David Holt to perform at BRCC

David Holt

Four-time Grammy award-winning musician, storyteller, historian and cultural preservationist David Holt will be featured in the next program of the Center for Cultural Preservation's series "Keeping the Fires Burning" on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.

The series highlights Western North Carolina's heritage heroes who are keeping alive mountain culture and passing it on to future generations.
Entitled "A Musical Conversation with David Holt," the program is an interactive experience with the audience on Holt's connection with Appalachian culture and traditions.
Holt is well known for his television and radio series. He is host of public television's Folkways, a North Carolina program that takes the viewer through the Southern mountains visiting traditional craftsmen and musicians. A consummate performer, he plays 10 acoustic instruments and has released numerous recordings of traditional mountain music and Southern folktales.
The program will be held at Bo Thomas Auditorium at BRCC. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door.
