Snow maybe, accumulation unlikely

Henderson County could see snow mixed with rain late Friday night but is southeast of the zone of a fall mountain snowstorm that could leave several inches of accumulation in higher elevations west of Asheville.

The National Weather Forecast predicted a chance of rain and snow between midnight and 5 a.m. Saturday, turning to snow after 5 a.m. The chance of precipitation was 40 percent with little or no snow accumulation expected, the weather service said.

On Saturday snow is possible until 10 a.m. with a mix of snow and rain until 2 p.m. There was a slight chance of snow Saturday night with little to no accumulation predicted before a warmup on Sunday with a high of 48 under sunny skies.
