County schools name top principal

Scott Rhodes, principal of East Henderson High School, has been selected as the 2015 Wells Fargo Principal of the Year for the Henderson County public schools.
Rhodes was selected by his peers for his commitment and dedication to the students and leadership in service of East Henderson High School. Human Resources Director John Bryant made the announcement last week to EHHS students and staff. Mr. Rhodes will serve as the 2015 HCPS Principal of the Year from January 2015 until December 2015.
Rhodes, who has been with the Henderson County Public Schools since 1992, became principal of East Henderson High School in July 2013. He served as principal of Flat Rock Middle School from 2009-2013, assistant principal of North Henderson High School from 2007-2009, and physical education teacher from 1992-2007. He holds a masters degree from Gardner-Webb University and a B.A. in physical education from Western Carolina University.
