Pardee participates in 'Giving Tuesday'

Pardee Hospital Foundation on Tuesday will participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to charitable giving that combines the power of social media and the generosity of people to bring about real change in their communities.

This #GivingTuesday, Pardee Hospital Foundation aims to raise $10,000 to cover the cost of a new blanket warmer for Pardee Hospital.
"It's very easy to become distracted by the excitement of Black Friday and Cyber Monday," said Kim Hinkelman, executive director for the Pardee Hospital Foundation. "Giving Tuesday is a wonderful way to kick off the holiday and to focus on what truly matters most this season."
As part of #GivingTuesday, Pardee Hospital Foundation is encouraging the community to not be the first in line this holiday shopping season, but instead be the first to give. A gift at any level will make an immediate impact and personally provide comfort and warmth to a patient in need. The Foundation is providing step by step instructions to ensure high levels of participation.
• STEP 1: On Tuesday, Dec. 2, go online and make your secure donation at pardeehospitalfoundation.org. Make sure to select Giving Tuesday under the "Events" tab.
• STEP 2: With a marker and a piece of paper, make a sign with the words #GivingTuesday and #ComfortAndWarmth. Wrap yourself in your favorite blanket, with your sign in hand, and have a friend or family member take your photo.
• STEP 3: Post your photo to Facebook! Make sure to "tag" Pardee Hospital Foundation in the post by first typing @pardeehospitalfoundation followed by #GivingTuesday and #ComfortAndWarmth. For Example, donors could post, "I am proud to support @pardeehospitalfoundation and to contribute towards the new Blanket Warmer! #GivingTuesday #ComfortAndWarmth"
• STEP 4: Encourage friends and family to do the same via your social media channel.
