Sheriff's deputies caught a 15-year-old who they suspect stole a car and laptop in Edneyville and later committed a burglary of Zima Wireless on Old Spartanburg Highway.

The sheriff's office received a call at 5:30 a.m. today that a black 2011 Mazda SUV had been stolen in the Edneyville community. It was reported that the car thief went into a residence and took the keys to the SUV and a laptop computer. Also early today Zima Wireless, on Old Spartanburg Highway, reported that someone had kicked in the door and  stolen several items. While searching for the stolen vehicle, an officer spotted the stolen Mazda, unoccupied at the Edneyville Community Park. The officer saw a 15-year-old juvenile walking near the area and when he confronted the teenager he found the keys to the stolen vehicle in the suspect's pocket. Items stolen from Zima Wireless were also located in the recovered vehicle.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect's residence and found the stolen laptop and more property taken in the Wireless store break-in. The juvenile suspect was detained and transported to the North Carolina Juvenile Justice Facility for processing.
