Deputies in South Florida to interview man about Sunday murder

Henderson County sheriff's deputies and state SBI agents are in North Miami Beach to interview a man wanted for questioning in the death of Margaret Kelly, whose body was found by her daughter on Sunday morning.

The person of interest, Brendan James Allen, 28, is in custody at North Miami Beach and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. Allen is charged in Henderson County with motor vehicle theft from the home of  Kelly on 441 North Harper Drive on Sunday. Florida police caught him on Monday. Investigators plan to interview Allen and collect a DNA sample, the sheriff's office said.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation have investigators in North Miami Beach at this time  to interview  and collect forensic evidence from Allen. Although an autopsy has been completed, the official report determining the approximate time and cause of death has not yet been received, the sheriff's office said. Kelly's daughter found her mother's body covered in blood on a couch of her home shortly before noon Sunday.
