Authorities ask for help finding woman

Authorities asked for the public's help in locating a 40-year-old woman who has not been since New Year's Day.

On Jan. 1, Tana Wynette Burgess walked from her residence in Flat Rock in route to the women's center in Hendersonville. Ms. Burgess never made it to the women's center and has not been seen since that date. She Burgess is a black female and is 5'9" 246 pounds with blonde curly hair. Ms. Burgess was last seen wearing a white jacket with multicolored words on it, black leggings, dark pink Nike shoes and a gray ball cap with the word "Miami" written on it in pink. Burgess has a tattoo on her right wrist that says "Boss Lady", a star on her right hand and a Betty Boop cartoon character on her upper right arm. She  has medical issues and left home without her medication, the sheriff's office said.
