Man faces first-degree burglary charge

Detectives from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office have added a charge of first-degree burglary against Joshua Hugh Ellis, 25, of 126 Southbrook Road, after his arrest early Sunday for breaking into a motor vehicle.

After seeing media reports of Ellis's arrest, a homeowner in the Brookside Camp Road area contacted investigators with concerns that his home had been broken into sometime during the night. Investigators were able to link Ellis to the burglary, which occurred while the victim, his wife and two children were in the residence. Ellis remains in custody of the Henderson County jail under an $18,000 secured bond. Sheriff Charles McDonald is urging any resident of the Brookside Camp Road area that has experienced a larceny of property from their residence or a motor vehicle recently to please contact the Henderson County Sheriff's office at 697-4911.
