Third affordable housing project proposed

A third developer has submitted plans for an affordable housing project in Hendersonville.
Charlotte-based Flatiron Partners Inc. are seeking city approval of an 80-unit development on 10 acres on Frances Road next to the Cedar Bluff Apartments. A site plan submitted for city planning review shows five buildings arranged in a rectangle with parking, a playground, picnic area and community building in the center.
Called Cedar Terrace, the development would have 56 two-bedroom and 24 three-bedroom units, the plans show. Founded in 2003, Flatiron Partners has developed 40 apartment complexes throughout Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia representing more than $100 million in real estate development, the firm said on its website. It specializes in affordable housing projects.
The Hendersonville Lightning was unable to reach founder, Hollis M. Fitch, on Tuesday.
