Store to sell power tools, golf carts

Dennis Dorn told the Planning Board the NCDOT has tentatively OK'd a right-in right-out driveway on Four Seasons Boulevard west of Dana Road.

Buyers of hardware, chainsaws and other power equipment will have a new place to shop off Four Seasons Boulevard soon.

The Hendersonville Planning Board this week approved plans by developer Dennis Dorn to build a 12,000-square-foot store on Four Seasons Boulevard at Dana Road selling tools, Husqvarna power equipment and golf carts.
Dorn said he had "an oral agreement" with the DOT to allow a right-turn-in, right-turn-out driveway into the property west of Dana Road. The three-acre site is accessible only from Tracy Grove Road. Dorn told the Planning Board that he planned to develop the retail store whether or not the DOT ultimately OKs the driveway.
"We want to get started as soon as possible," he said after the meeting. "I think it will be a nice addition to the area, fitting in with Lowe's and Home Depot. We want to get started in March."
The retail use, which is allowed under the current C-3 Highway Business zone, required only a signoff by the Planning Board because the building is over 10,000 square feet. The proposal does not need City Council approval.
