Laurel Park issues update on town services

LAUREL PARK — The signficant snowfall overnight affected Laurel Park town operations. Here is a schedule update of services:

• Trash will NOT be collected on Thursday (2/26). Trash collection will begin on Friday (2/27) and may not be complete until Saturday (2/28). Please have your trash by the road by 7:30 a.m. on Friday (2/27) to ensure collection.
If trash is not collected on Friday (2/27), please leave it out or place back out by 7:30 a.m. on Saturday (2/28). If it is unsafe for the trash truck to travel on a particular road, pickup may not be possible this week, and will resume as normal next Thursday (3/5).
• Town Hall offices will operate on a delayed schedule Thursday (2/27) opening at 11:00 a.m.
• Beginning Thursday (2/26), Public Works personnel will be working around the clock until the roads are clear. Please use caution when travelling, and stay home if at all possible.
• Do not park cars on the road or in a cul-de-sac. This hampers the ability to plow the snow, and may delay roads being cleared.
• Police are on-duty 24/7.
o In the case of an emergency, please dial 911.
o In the case of a non-emergency, please contact the Police Department on the Officer's Cell Phone at (828) 674-0203.
• If electricity is lost, please contact Duke Energy at 1-800-POWERON (769-3766).
