Eagle projects help community

Nathan Duckett of Troop 628 made the chime box for Helping Hand Development Center at BRCC for his Eagle project.

Eagle Scouts built park benches, exercise equipment, a playhouse, a bell chime box and an archery stand, installed an irrigation system, collected toys, erected a sign and rehabbed trails as Eagle projects in 2014.

Twenty Scouts achieved the rank of Eagle in 2014 in the Terrora District, which is made up of Henderson and Transylvania counties. In order to earn the rank of Eagle, Scouts must pass through the five ranks from Tenderfoot up, earn 21 merit badges including required ones, lead a project that serves a school, church or other community organization and pass a Board of Review.
