Armed masked man triggers lockdown of school

Edneyville Elementary School was locked down for 45 minutes today after sheriff's deputies responded to a call about an armed man wearing a ski mask running from a house.

At 12:51 p.m. today deputies answered a call that breaking and entering was in progress at 1878 Pace Road about a mile from the school. A family member observed a unknown male with a ski mask fleeing an unoccupied residence with two long barreled weapons in his possession. Deputies responded with a K-9 and located the two weapons a short distance from the residence where the theft occurred. The school was locked down approximately 45 minutes and the investigation and search for the suspect continues.
