Deputies charge convicted felon with more felonies

Michael Ray Mills

Henderson County sheriff's detectives and state probation officers after a month-long investigation charged a 55-year-old Hendersonville man with multiple felonies.

Michael Ray Mills, 55, of 155 East Poplar Drive, faces charges of possessing a firearm as a felon, possessing a stolen firearm, possessing drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. During the course of the search at his house, officers and detectives recovered a stolen Smith & Wesson .357-caliber handgun, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The investigation began over a month ago after detectives received reports of possible drug activity and the home's occupant receiving stolen property. After his arrest, Mills was released under a $40,000 secured bond.

State Department of Corrections records show that Mills had been convicted of maintaining a dwelling for use of drugs, felony drug possession and several counts of driving with a revoked license and had served 15 months in prison.
