Officers charge local man with bank robbery

Henderson County sheriff’s deputies and Hendersonville Ppolice officer arrested a 21-year-old local man Sunday and charged him with a bank robbery in Laurel Park on Friday and the robbery of the Corner Pantry on April 25.

The law officers took Marquis Dechane Harrison, of Flat Rock, into custody at a residence on Brooklyn Avenue in Hendersonville. He is charged with the  robbery at Wells Fargo Bank and the convenience store robbery. He was jailed under $200,000 bond.

Early Monday, city officers found and arrested a second suspect wanted in the Corner Pantry robbery, Austin James West. Hendersonville police officers responding to a suspicious person call off Spring Garden Avenue found West  sleeping in a car.  Austin was taken into custody without incident and is currently jailed in the Henderson County Detention Center pending a first appearance.
