Six city officers receive advanced training

Officers who received advanced training were Sgt. Robert Merz, Detective Nathan Smith, Sgt. Philip Hudson, Sgt. Jimmy Case and Sgt. Brandon McGaha.

Six Hendersonville police officers recently completed the Trilogy of Leadership classes offered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Law Enforcement Executives Development Association, Chief Herbert Blake announced.

The officers were Sgt. Robert Merz, Detective Nathan Smith, Sgt. Philip Hudson, Sgt. Jimmy Case and Sgt. Brandon McGaha. The law enforcement leadership training classes are taught by current and former law enforcement agency leaders from around the country. The topics covered in the 120 hours of course work included employee development, employee motivation, discipline, liability issues and leadership development.
