Storm knocks out power, triggers flood warning

A band of severe thunderstorms dumped more than three inches of rain in the area, knocked out power on Main Street in Hendersonville and triggered a flash flood warning.

The National Weather Service office in Greer, S.C., said that the heavy rain posed a flood threat for Clear Creek, Mud Creek, the Green River and other area rivers, creeks and streams. More rain is forecast throughout the evening.

The storm knocked out power to parts of the east side of Main Street, although Duke Power reported only 13 customers were without electricity at 8 p.m. Monday.

The forecast calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms and showers and possibly a thunderstorm continuing through the night. Chance of rain was 60 percent overnight. Tuesday was forecast to be partly sunny with a 40 percent chance of rain.
