Wingate names Hendersonville dean

A pharmacist and fitness enthusiast is the new regional dean of Wingate University’s campus in Hendersonville. Kurt Wargo began working at Wingate this month, overseeing the university’s pharmacy, physician assistant studies and MBA programs in Hendersonville, the university announced.

Raised in northeastern Ohio, Dr. Wargo received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Kent State University and his doctorate from Creighton University School of Pharmacy. He served his postdoctoral residency at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Wargo served on the faculty of Auburn University School of Pharmacy and the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Huntsville School of Medicine from 2003 until the spring of 2015. He is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist with added qualifications in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy.

Dr. Wargo runs marathons, plays golf and is an avid sports fan, especially of teams from Cleveland. He and his wife, Nikki, have three children. He enjoys coaching and supporting his children in soccer, dance and gymnastics.
