Officers arrested a 73-year-old Salisbury Road man on felony drug charges after a tip led to an investigation and the discovery of more than 30 pounds of homegrown pot.

An investigation conducted jointly by drug task force detectives from the Hendersonville Police Department and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the SBI culminated on Thursday when the team executed a search warrant and seized 54 marijuana plants from inside a home in the quiet suburban neighborhood.

Officers arrested Vincent Lee Higbee, 73, and charged him with two counts of trafficking marijuana, one count of manufacturing marijuana and one count of maintaining a dwelling place for the purpose of controlled substances. Higbee, of 720 Salisbury Road, was jailed at the Henderson County Detention Center under a $32,000 secured bond. Tax records show Higbee is the owner of the home at that address.
