'Letters to God' director speaks at Mud Creek Baptist

The Flat Rock Playhouse is bringing filmmaker David Nixon to town as part of its new Studio 52 education programming. Nixon, the director-producer of "Letters to God" who is credited with creating the Faith-Based Genre of filmmaking, will give a presentation on “How to Change the World through Movies” at Mud Creek Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Sunday. He will also teach during Faith Friendly Week, July 27-31, at the Studio 52 Education Building.

Nixon’s credits include the feature films “Fireproof,” “Facing the Giants,” “Letters to God” and the recently released “To Write Love on her Arms,” the inspiring story behind Renee Yohe and her addiction recovery.
Launched this summer, Flat Rock Playhouse Studio 52 fulfills the Playhouse’s dual mission of producing performing arts and providing education for the community. It includes a professional series, a summer and fall college apprentice and intern program, as well as community education through its Studio 52 arm.
