Game Stop robber convicted

A Henderson County jury on Wednesday convicted Chico Talbert on a charge of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a video game store holdup last December.

Talbert robbed the Game Stop store at the Blue Ridge Mall last December and wielded a knife during the robbery. He injured store clerk Mike Crump with the knife and fled the area with property from the store. After Hendersonville police officers obtained the security video tape, they sought the public’s help in identifying the suspect by releasing the tape for play to WLOS News 13. Police received several calls from people identifying the robber as Chico Talbert. Talbert is be sentenced at 9 a.m. Thursday by Superior Court Judge Gary Gavenus.
