Miller's announces July charity winner

Miller’s Fine Drycleaning has named the second winner of its 100th birthday event that donates $500 each month to a non-profit organization in Henderson County.
To celebrate the anniversary, the business in June launched two different promotions — one giving back to customers and one giving back to the community through a $500 donation to a nonprofit.
The non-profit nominated the most in July and the winner of the second $500 prize was the Sgt. S. Matthew Baynard Foundation, which is dedicated to the advancement of amateur athletics by providing shoes, equipment scholarships and mentoring to young athletes in the community.
Baynard was a loving father, husband and dedicated soldier. Always active in athletics, he planned to move back to Western North Carolina, earn a degree in personal training and open his own gym. He died unexpectedly on July 22, 2012, from complications of injuries he had suffered while on deployment. More information on the foundation can be found at SgtSMBfoundation.com.
To vote, add Miller’s Fine Drycleaning as a friend on Facebook and follow the instructions on how to nominate. Miller’s will close the campaign at the end of each month and choose the charity that received the most posts during the month. The charity must be a registered 501(c)3 in Henderson County. A charity can only win one time. Miller’s Drycleaning is located at 423 N. King Street with a second location at 1620 Brevard Road.
