Lightning's 2015 Apple Festival Guide sets record

You'll want to pick up a copy of the 2014 North Carolina Apple Festival Guide in this week's Hendersonville Lightning.

It's a record-breaking 48 pages, our biggest Apple tab ever. You'll find coverage of this year's apple crop, apple farmers' opposition to a Duke Energy transmission line, a feature on the Tour d'Apple bicycle event, profiles of Apple Ambassador Kayce Lancaster and King Apple Parade Grand Marshal "Big John" Reinhart, the parade lineup, a complete list of arts & crafts and food vendors, a complete entertainment schedule and a two-page map.

"We put a lot of work and a lot of energy into the Apple tab," said Lightning publisher Bill Moss. "Advertising director Paula Roberts and news designer Jan Chapin did a great job. We hope readers enjoy the news content and the terrific buys and messages from our advertising partners in this tribute to the festival that honors our iconic crop and attracts tens of thousands of folks to Main Street. See you at the festival."
