Playhouse, Pardee partner to stage 'Wit'

The Flat Rock Playhouse and Pardee Hospital Foundation have partnered to produce a one-night-only staged reading of the Pulitzer Prize winning play “Wit” at 6 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown.
Written by playwright Margaret Edson, who drew upon her own experience working in a hospital, “Wit” is a heartfelt and moving exploration of kindness and compassion and the value of human relationship.
The cast includes Playhouse veterans Paige Posey, Preston Dyar, Ben Mackel, Neela Munoz, Janie Bushway, Christian Carmean, Olivia Palmer and Jon Graham. It will be directed by Artistic Director Lisa K. Bryant.
Proceeds will benefit the Pardee Hospital Foundation’s Women Helping Women initiative to help women who are uninsured or underinsured receive a mammogram or other important screening that can prevent and treat cancers, heart disease, osteoporosis and other threatening medical conditions. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased by calling the box office at 828.693.0731 or visiting flatrockplayhouse.org.
