Defendants receive prison terms

District Attorney Greg Newman announced numerous convictions resulting in active prison sentences during the Sept. 21-Oct. 2 terms of Henderson County Superior Court.

The cases were:

  • Matthew Jones, of 732 Crab Creek Road, Hendersonville, pleaded guilty to Death by Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 83 months in prison.
  • Albaro Zepeda, of 118 Southern Drive, Hendersonville, pleaded guilty to Indecent Liberties and was sentenced to 40 months in prison.
  • Michael Waycaster, of 665 Sugarloaf Road, Hendersonville, pleaded guilty to Felony Hit and Run with Serious Injury or Death and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
  • James Summey, of 866 Chimney Rock Road, Mills Spring, NC, pleaded guilty to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possess/Distribute Methamphetamine Precursor, and Possession of Methamphetamine and was sentenced to 72 months in prison.
  • Evan Robbins, of Brooklyn Avenue, Hendersonville, pleaded guilty to Obtaining Property by False Pretense and was sentenced to 17 months in prison. He also plead guilty to Misdemeanor Larceny and received a 45 day sentence.
  • Juan Flores, of 502 Ciccone Drive, Hendersonville, pleaded guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance and Habitual Felon and was sentenced to 50 months in prison.
