Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards wins 10 medals at State Fair

Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards won two Double Gold Medals, the highest medal designation awarded to wine, and a total of 10 at the State Fair.

Double gold was awarded to Saint Paul's Jasper. A red wine named for the grandson of owner Alan Ward, Jasper is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The other recipient of Double Gold was  Laurel Hill, an off dry white wine made from Vidal Blanc grapes. Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards was one of only two wineries in the state to receive the double gold designation for two of their wines.

A total of 10 medals were awarded to Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards wine, the two double gold as well as three gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze. Award winning wines were:

  • Petit Verdot
  • Wallace Artisan Hard Cider
  • Chestnut Gap, Cabernet blend

Silver

  • Homeplace
  • Centennial Farm Heritage, Dry Riesling

Bronze

  • Viognier
  • Barrel Aged Chardonnay
