Conservancy seeks volunteers to 'make a difference'

Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy and AmeriCorps Project Conserve are seeking volunteers for Make a Difference Day on Sunday, Oct. 25.

For 24 years running, the date has been the largest national day of service in which volunteers join together to celebrate the power of people to make a difference in their communities.
Volunteers will participate in three service projects focused on habitat restoration, non-native invasive plant management and installation of a pollinator garden. The projects will take place in Flat Rock, Laurel Park and Horse Shoe, respectively, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

AmeriCorps Project Conserve, administered by CMLC, is a national service program in which 32 members dedicate eleven months of public service to Western North Carolina. The program is in its 11th year and has contributed more than 500,000 hours of service to the region to date. This event is free and open to the public.
