Downtown hosts 'Trick or Treat Street'

Downtown Hendersonville hosts the annual Trick or Treat Street on Halloween featuring costume contests for ages 3 and up, DJ Sid the Surf and candy from merchants.

 

Sponsored by Ingles Markets, Trick or Treat Street starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, with registration for the costume contest beginning at 4:30 p.m. The contest judging, which includes age categories for infants to 3 years old, 4 to 7, 8 to 11, 12 to 15, 16 plus and Family/Group Contestants, starts at 5:45 pm with the youngest age group.
Celebrity judges will choose top contestants from each category to participate in a Sid the Surf led voice vote by the crowd for first place. Crowd favorites will receive a downtown prize pack. At the conclusion of the contest Sid the Surf will entertain the crowd until 7:30 pm with his brand of Monster Mash mayhem.
Trick or Treating takes place along Main Street from Allen Street to Sixth Avenue. The costume contest and Monster Mash are in the 400 block of Main Street.

Crab Creek hosts Fall Festival

The Crab Creek Community Center will host a Fall Festival on Halloween at 5:30 p.m. with pizza and hot dog plates, a cakewalk, games, door prizes and lots of fun. For questions call Shannon Brown at 828-606-6637. The event is an annual fundraiser to help with community center expenses and maintenance.
