United Way launches process for 2016 funding

United Way of Henderson County in the coming weeks will be accepting applications from agencies seeking funding for the 2016-17 fiscal year.

This competitive grant process is focused on achieving United Way's long-term goals in the areas of Education, Income, and Health.

Programs providing Crisis and Basic Needs services will also be considered for funding.
Programs applying to partner with United Way on work in Education, Income or Health must be able to show results that align with UWHC’s goals as detailed in HC2025, UWHC’s plan for improving our community over the next decade. These goals address the issues of Kindergarten Readiness; School Success; Financial Stability; Affordable Housing; Reducing Obesity; and Healthy Youth Behaviors. Details on the goals and strategies UWHC has adopted to achieve these goals can be found at www.liveunitedhc.org under “Our Work.”
All prospective applicants must meet Eligibility Requirements in order to apply for funding. Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) or public, tax-exempt health and human service organization with at least a two-year history of providing health and human service programs to the residents of Henderson County and have program results that clearly align with UWHC goals in the areas of Education, Income Health, or Crisis Services/Basic Needs. Agencies may combine resources and apply together in a new collaborative program addressing one or more of the UWHC 2025 Target Issues.
