Sinatra and Streisand together at last

‘Sharon Owens stars as Barbra Streisand and Sebastian Anzaldo stars as Frank Sinatra in ‘Barbra and Frank: The Christmas Concert That Never Was’ at the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown through Dec. 20.

Although Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand never performed together — unless you count taping a duet in separate recording sessions — it’s tantalizing to think of the iconic performers together in a Christmas concert.

Sharon Owens stars as Barbra Streisand and Sebastian Anzaldo portrays Frank Sinatra, singing the most memorable music and songs ever written in “Barbra and Frank: The Christmas Concert That Never Was” — a must see show for Streisand and Sinatra fans — at the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown.
Songs include such standards from the Streisand/Sinatra catalog as “Luck Be A Lady,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “I’ve Got the World on a String” and “People,” as well holiday classics like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Santa Baby,” “Let It Snow” and “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”
Owens recently has turned to television, where she was crowned the winner of the hit TV show on Fox called “Performing As…” She and Anzaldo have been performing the Streisand and Sinatra show at the Westin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with the same title as the Music on the Rock show.
Anzaldo is fast becoming one of the top Sinatra interpreters in the country. In just a few short years, he has honed his act to perfecting the essence of the musical icon. With the voice, looks and mannerisms of ‘Ol Blue Eyes, Sebastian has wowed audiences from coast to coast.
“Barbra and Frank: The Christmas Concert That Never Was” opens Thursday and runs through Dec. 20 the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown with performances at 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
