Trinity invites men to be Friends in Christ

Trinity Presbyterian Church invites men of the community to join in meeting as Friends in Christ on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 in the church lounge.
Friends in Christ offers men a time and place to get together to talk and share personal feelings with other men without fear of being embarrassed or judged. While Biblical scripture is a major source for closer connection with God and each other, Friends in Christ is not a Bible Study group. Men show up because they enjoy being there among friends or feel a need to be present where all are welcomed. Trust and honesty are expressed, heard and felt among the men who become Friends in Christ.
Call 692-6114 for more information. The church is at 900 Blythe Street.

YMCA hosts pool
time for youngsters
The Hendersonville Family YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County announced a pilot program of water safety lessons and pool-time fun for Boys & Girls Club members from Dec. 15 to Dec. 17.
The YMCA will give approximately 100 kindergarten through fifth grade Boys & Girls Club members an age-appropriate water safety lesson followed by time to play in the pool, all under the supervision of Y lifeguards and Boys & Girls Club staffers.
“In addition to being fun, this experience will also help Club kids become safer when they're in the water,” said Julia Hockenberry, assistant executive director, Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County. “We're grateful for the opportunity to join forces.”
The pilot was created to meet the needs of children who attend schools with year-round calendars. These students start their school year in July and often miss out on summertime swimming opportunities. The program will host Club members from Bruce Drysdale and Hendersonville elementary schools.
