City giving away mulch through May

The city of Hendersonvillewill give away mulch for free to the public for the remainder of the May.

Beginning Thursday the city will have a staff person on site, to operate the backhoe to load the mulch 3:30-7:30 p.m.  Thursdays and Fridays and 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays. The giveaway will continue until May 28 or until all of it is gone. The location is at the wastewater treatment plant at 80 Balfour Road near the Kimberly-Clark plant. The same applies to leaf mulch but supplies are limited. For questions call the Public Works Department at (828) 697-3084.
