Award-winning poet headlines Kanuga writing workshop

Natasha Trethewey, a former Poet Laureate of the U.S. and Pulitzer Prize winner, will appear at Kanuga Conference Center for a poetry reading and discussion of the writing life during the 2016 Journal Conference Thursday, May 19, through Sunday, May 22.

 

 

The conference covers journal writing for healing, growth and change and includes teachers, therapist, coaches, group facilitators as well as journal writers with any level of experience.

Celebrating 30 years as a pioneer in the field of journal therapy and journal writing, Kay Adams, founder of The Center for Journal Therapy, will welcome Trethewey as a guest speaker.
All preconference workshops are half-day, so you can choose any one or two and continuing with a bounty of 90-minute and 3-hour breakout workshops.

  • Linda Joy Myers, author of The Power of Memoir and founder/director of the National Association for Memoir Writers
