Community Theatre presents ‘4,000 Miles’

The Hendersonville Community Theatre continues its 50th season with a 2nd Stage production of Amy Herzog’s award winning play “4,000 Miles.”
The Obie Award as Best New Play of 2012 and Time magazine’s 2012 Play of the Year, the gentle drama shows the idiosyncrasy as a feisty 91-year-old locks horns with her rudderless 21-year-old grandson who shows up at her Greenwich Village apartment after a disastrous cross-country bike trip. Over the course of just one month these two unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder and ultimately learn to love and understand each other.
The four-member cast under the direction of Jim Walker includes Thomas Young as Ned with Jackie Collison as his grandmother with supporting roles played by Blakley Bristol and Eli Rogers. Performances are June 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. and June 5 and 12 at 2 p.m. All tickets are $16 and may be purchased on line at hendersonvilletheatre.org or by calling the HCT box office at 828-692-1082.
