Safelight is bringing back the “Walk A Mile in Our Shoes” fundraiser in Downtown Hendersonville on Tuesday, Sept. 20, just prior to a comedy performance by Pam Stone at Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown.

Sponsored by Pardee Hospital, the event features men wearing women's high heels as they walk five blocks from Safelight on Fifth Avenue to the Visitors Center on Main Street. The walk will be followed by the separate ticketed  event at Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown including food and drinks from Dandelion Eatery and an evening of laughter and fun with Stone, known for her funny newspaper columns and her long-running role as Coach Judy Watkins on the popular '90s television hit “Coach.” Tickets are $25 and available by calling 828-693-3840.

“This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever before," Safelight Chair Pat Ashe said in a news release. "Walk a Mile brings the community together to promote awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault issues here in Henderson County. Participation by teams and individuals raises money for programs here at Safelight that truly change the lives of our clients.”
