HHS-Murphy game postponed until Saturday

Hendersonville High School football opener has been rained out and postponed until 6 p.m. Saturday.

HHS was set to meet traditional mountain power Murphy in its 2016 debut at Dietz Field. WTZQ will broadcast the game Saturday night.

As of 4:30 p.m. the North Henderson and East Henderson home openers were still on.

It's no sure thing that Saturday will be any better. The forecast calls for scattered showers before 1 p.m., then scattered showers and thunderstorms until 5 p.m. and showers likely with thunderstorms possible after 5. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent throughout the day and new rainfall was expected to total a tenth to a quarter inch, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Chance of rain remains 60 percent overnight Saturday and Sunday but it becomes sunny, cooler and drier early in the week.
