Gorgeous weather on tap for Apple Festival

Some of the best weather of the season will bless the region this weekend when thousands of visitors fill the streets for the 70th annual North Carolina Apple Festival.

Highs are expected to be around 77 degrees and lows about 60 under sunny skies for the festival, which draws an estimated crowd of 250,000 people to Hendersonville to celebrate apples from Friday morning until Monday evening.

Friday and Saturday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Sunday and Monday will be slightly warmer and still sunny, with a high of 80. The low each night was forecast to be 60 degrees. Despite tropical storm activity  in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic, no rain is forecast.
