Kenmure Fights Cancer Fund has donated $41,000 to Pardee Hospital Foundation — the largest gift ever given by the group.

Since 2008, Kenmure Fights Cancer has raised over $338,000 dedicated to organizations that support the fight against cancer. The group’s mission is to “remember those we have lost to cancer, honor those who have survived the battle and support those who are struggling today against the terrible disease.”

Throughout the year, Kenmure Fights Cancer hosts various fundraising events to raise money to support its mission. The monies raised by these events are divided and donated equally among the Pardee Hospital Foundation and the Park Ridge Health Foundation to advance cancer treatment.

This year’s donations were dedicated to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Pardee to acquire advanced technology for the Oncology Pharmacy. This technology will lower costs, speed up preparation for chemotherapy medications and, most importantly, reduce patients’ wait time for treatment. Kenmure Fights Cancer’s donation will make the Pardee Oncology Infusion Pharmacy the first pharmacy in the WNC region to utilize this technology, which further enforces Pardee Hospital’s goal of bringing advanced healthcare closer to home.

Kim Hinkelman, Pardee Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director, accepted the $41,000 check from Susan Bush, President of the Board of Kenmure Fights Cancer, on Oct. 5.
