Asheville man indicted for $13.7 million Ponzi scheme

A federal grand jury indictment accuses a 69-year-old Asheville man of operating a $13.7 million Ponzi scheme based on his promises that a company called Oodles was about to cash in on family entertainment shows and movies worth hundreds of millions of dollars, Andrew Murray, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, announced Thursday.
