Historic Seventh Avenue to get logo, tagline

A refinement of Hendersonville's "H" logo is part of a design contract for rebranding the Historic Seventh Avenue District.

The city of Hendersonville is investing $10,500 in a rebranding of the Historic Seventh Avenue District and creation of a new logo and tagline for the once-bustling train depot area.

The City Council on Thursday agreed to hire Arnett Muldrow & Associates Ltd., the Greenville, South Carolina-based branding and wayfinding design consultants who designed the city's current "H" logo. The contract for Seventh Avenue branding also includes "refinement" of the H logo, according to city documents on the agreement.

"The scope of work includes information gathering and background review, community resource visit and public information, draft strategy, implementation workshop," creation of the logo and tagline and "recommended uses for the final design," Downtown Manager Jamie Carpenter told the council in a memo.

The council's action came after the Downtown Advisory Board recommended branding and visioning process for the Seventh Avenue Municipal Service District as part of the 2022-23 budget, which the council also adopted on Thursday night.
