Hearing postponed on day surgery clinic

A certificate of need public hearing on an application from Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital to develop an ambulatory surgical facility in Mills River has been rescheduled due to the potential impacts of Hurricane Michael.

Originally scheduled for Oct. 12 at 10 a.m., the public hearing will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in the Kaplan Auditorium of the Henderson County Public Library, 301 N. Washington St. The Pardee Partners ASC project, which would have two procedure rooms, is expected to cost $16.3 million and would be completed in July 2021. The day-surgery clinic would be on a 20-acre site on N.C. 280 across from the Ingles shopping center, where Pardee recently opened an urgent care clinic. Pardee said it plans to relocate two operating rooms from the hospital to the Mills River clinic.
