Career Construction Day connects contractors, job seekers

FLETCHER — Construction Career Day on Wednesday at the WNC Agricultural Center’s McGough Arena, Fanning Bridge Road, will highlight local career opportunities available in the sector.

 

There is no charge for admission, this is a free event offered at no cost to employers, job seekers or other attendees. Follow this event on social media at #constructioncareerday. Attached is a flyer that includes participating employers and educational institutions.

Sponsored by the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board in partnership with the Asheville Area Home Builders and Carolinas AGC (Associated General Contractors), the event will connect at least 30 local employers offering construction career opportunities with job seekers.

The morning session from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. is open to high school students and closed to the general public. Participating public school systems include Asheville City, Buncombe, Jackson, Madison, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, and Transylvania county Schools. From 1 to 5 p.m. the event is open to college students and the general public as a career fair and construction demonstration day.
