Flat Rock interior designers recognized

Ann Ferguson's design for a Florida vacation home overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. The project includes a custom table design was inspired by a banyan tree outside the home.

Two Flat Rock-based interior designers were honored recently by the American Society of Interior Designers at the annual Excellence in Design Awards hosted by the Carolinas Chapter of ASID.


Ann Ferguson won First Place in the Vacation Home Category over 3,500 square feet. The winning entry is a Florida vacation home overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. The project includes a custom table design inspired by a banyan tree outside the home and a custom TV cabinet in the master suite. Each of those designs garnered Second Place Awards in the Furniture or Special Cabinetry category of the competition.
Dawn Driskill, of The Design Gallery in Flat Rock Square, was recognized in two specialty categories. Her Bathroom Specialty entry and her Kitchen Specialty entry each won Second Place Awards. Dawn also received an Honorable Mention in the Single Space category for her Living/Dining Room entry.
The Carolinas Chapter of ASID represents 890 members in both North and South Carolina.
