Main Street will be well-stocked for Garden Jubilee

Plants of all sizes, garden decorations and crafts will be available at Garden Jubilee on Memorial Day weekend.

Hendersonville’s Garden Jubilee Nurseries & Orchards Tour has finalized plans for its downtown component Memorial Day weekend after shifting to a countryside-only tour of nurseries and orchards last year due to the pandemic.

The new hybrid approach in 2021 incorporates a downtown street show as one of 16 stops on the tour. The overall tour takes place Friday to Sunday, May 28-30, while the Main Street event happens Saturday and Sunday only.

The return of Main Street features a reduction in the number of vendors and a tripling of space between booths. Event coordinator Amy Boswell of the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority has secured a superb lineup of plant vendors and garden accessory vendors for Main Street.

“Just about anything you need for your garden, we’ll have it on Main Street,” Boswell says.

Everything from small and mid-sized plants to garden art and tools to organic gardening supplies will be available, as well as craft and specialty items. A hospitality tent in the parking lot of the Visitor Center will allow people to store their purchases, then drive to the parking lot later for loading.

“Even though many national and state coronavirus restrictions have been lifted, we feel it is wise to stick with our plan to disperses crowds and allow for social distancing downtown,” says Karen Baker, Henderson County’s assistant tourism director.

The garden centers and nurseries participating in the countryside tour will sell annuals, shrubbery, perennials, herbs, trees, vegetables and hard-to-find plants. Orchards will offer produce, jams, jellies, honey, cider and baked goods.
Both nurseries and orchards will host vendors selling garden accessories, crafts and additional plants. Food trucks will be on hand at select locations.

Garden Jubilee Nurseries & Orchards Tour hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days. Downtown hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday only. Pets are not permitted in the event areas.
