Four Seasons breaks ground on Barber Veterans Memorial Garden

Four Seasons hospice leaders broke ground at the Elizabeth House Wednesday for the Dan and Nancy Barber Veterans Memorial Garden.

Named in honor of the veterans in the Barber family, the garden will give our community a dedicated place to pause and reflect on loved ones who have served in all branches of the military. Adjacent to the gardens that already beautify the grounds of the Elizabeth House, the Veterans Garden will be framed by flags and plaques for each of the service branches. Shaded seating areas will invite visitors, families and staff to spend time outside in the comfort of the natural world.

Almost 30% of Four Seasons patients are veterans and we are proud to offer them not only the care they trust, but deeply meaningful expressions of gratitude for their service. We offer Veteran patients a special pinning recognition ceremony to honor their service, train staff to better support Veteran’s needs at end of life and provide special veteran-to-veteran volunteer services.
