Write a haiku, win a prize

This Valentine’s week, Carolina Village wants to show the community some love. Now through Feb. 15, members of the community are encouraged to submit a short haiku on the Village’s Facebook page for a chance to win a prize: Click here to enter.

February is National Haiku Month, so the Village is celebrating the shortest form of poetry, love, and Carolina Village. Write your best haiku about the Village and post it on Facebook, tagging @CarolinaVillage1974. You do not have to be a gifted writer to win this contest. Haiku poems don't have to rhyme, but they do follow this format:

• Line 1 – 5 syllables
• Line 2 – 7 syllables
• Line 3 – 5 syllables

The contest is open to the public. Entries must be posted by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. The winner will be announced on Monday, Feb. 17, on Facebook. Prize must be claimed at Carolina Village.

Good luck writing, friends!
We can't wait to read your lines.
Love, your Village friends

(See that? THAT was a haiku!)
