The Immaculate Conception Knights of Columbus Council 7184 recently honored law officers, firefighters and EMTs in the 28th anniversary of the Shield Awards, which shows appreciation for the men and women who keep people in Henderson County safe and secure.

Those who receive awards have gone above and beyond the role of their jobs by giving back to the community and are chosen with the help of their superior officers.
Awards went to Henderson County Fire & Rescue Capt. Dave Jenkins, Sheriff’s Deputy Omar Jimenez-Tweed, Hendersonville Police Officer Cameron Singleton, Hendersonville firefighter Blake Redden and paramedic Renee Griffin of the county Emergency Medical Services.
