'No RINO here,' Edwards says of conservative voting award

"No RINO here," state Sen. Chuck Edwards says of his fourth consecutive “Conservative Excellence Award,” bestowed by the American Conservative Union Foundation based on voting records of legislators.

The award, Edwards said in a news release, "illustrates how a legislator’s vote aligns with the ideals articulated in the U.S. Constitution: limited and transparent government, individual rights, personal responsibility, and lasting cultural values."

"I am proud to have been recognized as helping to promote the essential conservative principles that will help create successful, responsible self-government in the state of North Carolina," he said.
