Voters can meet Democratic nominees at 'Speed Dating' event

Henderson County Democrats are inviting voters to get to know people running for office during a fast-paced "Speed Dating" event Saturday, July 25, at Guidon Brewing Company, 415 Eighth Avenue East. 

Invited candidates are Democratic nominees Doyle Brown, state Senate District 48; Lynne Russo, N.C. House District 117; Mary Ellen Kustin, Henderson County School Board; Toby Hampson, N.C. Court of Appeals judge; and Christine Walczyk, N.C. Court of Appeals judge.
Voters may pick a time that works for them. Session 1 is 1:30 to 3 p.m., session 2 is 2:30 to 4.
Organizers will host a supervised kids' table with coloring books and crayons to keep the little ones entertained during the meet-and-greet. (Sorry, no pets allowed.) There’s plenty of parking.
