A resolution declaring the intention of the Town of Laurel Park Town Council to consider closing an unopened portion of Fairway Drive located between properties addressed 330 and 336 Fairway Drive, further identified as PINs 9558-83-8414 and 9558-93-1359 as petitioned by Andy Spoone.

WHEREAS, NC General Statute (G.S.) 160A-299 authorizes the Town Council to close public streets and alleys, and,

WHEREAS, Andy Spoone has petitioned the Council of the Town of Laurel Park to close an unopened portion of Fairway Drive located between properties addressed 330 and 336 Fairway Drive, further identified as PINs 9558-83-8414 and 9558-93-1359, and,

WHEREAS, the Town Council considers it advisable to conduct a public hearing for the purpose of giving consideration to the closing of the unopened street.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Laurel Park:
1. A public hearing will be held at 1:00 p.m. on the 20th day of May 2025, in the Laurel Park Town Hall to consider closing an unopened portion of Fairway Drive located between properties addressed 330 and 336 Fairway Drive, further identified as PINs 9558-83-8414 and 9558-93-1359.
2. The Town Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Public Hearing Notice once a week for four successive weeks prior to the hearing.
3. The Town Clerk is further directed to transmit by registered or certified mail a copy of this Resolution of Intent to each owner of property adjoining that portion of said street.
4. The Town Clerk is further directed to cause adequate notice of the Resolution of Intent and the public hearing to be posted along said street, as required by G.S. 160A-299.

The Henderson County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing for a proposed map amendment to the Official Zoning Map of Henderson County, North Carolina.

Rezoning Application #R-2025-03 is for all 1.28 acres of PIN: 9599-32-1880 (hereafter the subject area), with access from Ridge Road. The application, submitted on February 12, 2025, requests that the County rezone the subject area from Industrial to Residential District Two Rural (R2R). On April 17th, 2025, the Planning Board will review and make a recommendation to the Board of Commissioners prior to the public hearing. The property owner is Rolling Ridge, Inc.

The public hearing will be held on Monday, May 5th, 2025, at 5:30 PM, in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room in the Henderson County Historic Courthouse at 1 Historic Courthouse Square in Hendersonville, NC. The public is invited to attend and comment on the proposed amendment.

Written comments addressed to the Henderson County Board of Commissioners, 1 Historic Courthouse Square, Suite 1, Hendersonville, NC 28792, will be accepted prior to the hearing. Information about the proposed amendment is available for review in the Henderson County Planning Department, 100 N. DEVELOPMENT CODE
(TX-2025-03)
The Henderson County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on proposed text amendments to the Henderson County Land Development Code (LDC) (TX-2025-03). The Land Development Code (LDC) provides a police station use that is typically related to municipalities but does include county sheriff or local law enforcement establishments found in the county’s jurisdiction. The proposed amendment with replace police station use with law enforcement establishments and include those associated uses. To be consistent with other governmental uses, these establishments would be permitted in all zoning districts with supplemental requirements.

Before adopting the proposed text amendments to the LDC, the Board of Commissioners must hold a public hearing. The public hearing will be held Monday, May 5, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room located in the Henderson County Historic Courthouse, 1 Historic Courthouse Square, Hendersonville. The public is invited to attend and comment on the proposed text amendments.
